Diane and Bill - Wedding

Baltimore 12/31/2011

Diane and Bill had a professional photographer, but we can't expect to see any of that work until whenever??   So here is a somewhat chronological selection of photos that the photographer didn't take.  There are 34 photos presented out of the over 130 images that I took.

The photos are presented here rather than on some social media site because of all the best reasons.

When we arrived for the ceremony, the photographer had Diane out on the sidewalk for some interest shots.

Before the ceremony started, Phil and his three sisters posed for a family portrait.  Angie, Phil, Mary Ann and Janet.

Angie with her daughter Lindsay. Janet's daughter Carly is far left.

Mary Ann with her daughter Shelly. Janet's daughter Cassie is far right.

"The parents of the bride."

Diane walking down the aisle.  Some were asking "Why didn't her father walk her down the aisle?"   It was agreed that it wasn't necessary.  Some traditions just don't have to be adheared to.  Another tradition is the giving away of the bride.  We didn't do that either.  It was rather a taking of the groom. i.e. We now have both of them, and we will share.  Besides, there's no room to walk beside Diane because the gown is so wide.  It would have been a total embarassment to have a tripping episode.

The ceremony is over, and here we meet "The Newly Weds".

The groom's family.

The minister, Emily, is filling out the marriage license. This was Emily's first marriage ceremony.

When the ceremony was over, a trolly was provided to get to the reception. It looks like Ann is happy that the ceremony is over.

This happy fellow gave up his New Year's Eve to shuttle us around. The shuttle went from the church to the reception venue, and then to the hotel where most of us were staying.

Diane and Melissa with their cousins from their father's side of the family.  This was taken at the reception venue.
Cassie, Carly, Diane, Melissa, Lindsay and Shelly.

Dance practice. Enough said. (Another shot the professional didn't get.)

Bill and Diane are checking the cake. They also practiced how they were going to cut it.

Practice is over. This is the real dance.

This is the entree.  If you really like crab cakes and not beef or rice cakes, what's a guy to do?

Trade the beef for a crab cake and a rice cake for a crab cake, and there you have it.

Chuck and Emily, Diane's cousin on her mother's side of the family.

Bill's father, Doug, with Bill's step mother Linda.

The Father / Daughter dance.

Bill is dancing with his step mother, Linda.

Don and Nancy. Ann's sister and her husband.

Mike and Ashley are Diane's friends from Arizona.

Diane's brother Tim with his friend Lori.

Diane's nephew Zachary, the youngest guest, with his mom Maggie.  Zachary endured a long car ride down from New Hampshire.  I apologize to Zachary's father Warren. We seem to have missed him in the photos. Dang! We'll have to wait to see what the professional has.

The toasts presented by the maid of honor and the best man had both Diane and Bill laughing.

When you have a wedding on New Year's Eve, you have to have a party in addition to the wedding.

Diane's cousin Cassie with her friend Jarrett.

Diane's brother Glen with his wife Sarah waiting for the trolly to get going.

Well the reception is over, and Ann is on the trolly ready to go back to the hotel.  It can probably be said that this is the first time she hasn't made a funny face for a photo.

Tim and Lori.

A full trolly. Everyone is ready to get to the hotel and celebrate New Year's Eve.  This was taken at 10pm.
